These were taken (not as well as they could have been due to physical exhaustion, and severe hunger) the day after FYF. It was our first real meal of the day, well, two days considering our lack of actual food consumption during the festival, AND if you have to pick a restaurant to jolt your food libido and tastebuds back to la vida loca, Pizzeria Mozza is
IT. Due to the meal's consumption time we could not have been luckier. No reservation, and we walk right into Mozza--Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali, and
Joseph Bastianich's menage trois' love child--and get seated in no less than 5 minutes, a feat, and a special little miracle for our ravenous group of five. Mozza has to be one of our go-to GUEST'S restaurant. It's the casual-chic sister restaurant of
Osteria Mozza, perfect for moments where you don't feel like saying "Aw gee guys you didn't bring your dandy clothes?!" and you still get to show off the food. It's definitely top five for meals I'd eat right before I croak. El Bulli is somewhere on that list too. Oh yeah, if I'm kicking the bucket, excuse my crappy idiom, I will consume nothing but food I normally should not and can not afford. Thank you. Very much. Enjoy this, because you KNOW I did.
P.S. Bone Marrow lathered onto Pizza Crust. Do it. I dare you.
Ensalate--Tricolore with Parmigiano Reggiano & Anchovy Dressing
Antipasti--Bone marrow al forno
Pizza #1--Squash blossoms, tomato & burrata
Pizza #2--Prosciutto di Parma, rucola, tomato & mozzarella
Pizza #3--Finnochiona salame, mozzarella, tomato & Fresno chiles
Pizza #4--Egg, bacon, Yukon gold potato & Bermuda onions (MY FAVORITE)
Pizza #5--Bacon, salami, fennel sausage, guanciale, tomato & mozzarella
